Italian manufacturer Gilera were particularly successful on the motorcycle 500cc racing scene right through the 1950's & early 60's, with many wins by legendary riders like Geoff Duke from Great Britain.

1944 Gilera Marte + Sidecar

Engine Size: 498cc

First Produced: 1940

1944 Gilera Marte with Sidecar

Introduced at the beginning of WW2, particularly fitted with a sidecar, for use by the military in Italy. The engine was a single cylinder OHV with a power output of 14hp & coupled to a 4 speed hand controlled gearbox.

1947 Gilera Saturno

Engines: 498cc

First Produced: 1946

1947 Gilera Saturno

This model was manufactured directly after WW2 & was an instant success. It had a 498cc single OHV engine producing 16hp. Various versions of the Saturno were manufactured up until 1959, including an off the shelf racing machine called the Competizioni.

1947 Gilera Nettuno

Engine Size: 250cc

First Produced: 1946

1947 Gilera Nettuno

Powered by a 250cc four stroke single cylinder OHV engine. The Sport version arrived in 1947 which was subsequently adapted for racing in the 250cc class. 

1960 Gilera Giubilio 98cc

Engine:

98, 125, 150, 175cc

First Produced: 1959

All models had a single cylinder, four stroke OHV engine coupled to a 4 speed transmission. There were various revisions to the Giubilio during the next 10 years of pruduction.

1969 Gilera Antorcha Super 49

Engine: 49cc

First Produced: 1969

1969 Gilera Antorcha Super 49

The Antorcha Super 49 was a hugely successful bike and had many variants which were made up of different tank shapes, fairings, seat humps, mudguards, chain guards etc. They continued making many variants until 1977.
