BMW started manufacturing complete motorcycles in 1923 & introduced the R32. This model was the seed for all future BMWs with the 'Boxer' style engines which makes them so distinctive amongst other marques. Due to the longevity of BMW motorcycles there are many classic machines and parts still available, so it is definitely worth looking for machines & spare parts available through Ebay in the countries listed below, you never know what luck you might have!!. 1948 BMW R24 Engine Size: 247cc First Produced: 1948
The R24 has a 4 stroke single cylinder OHV engine coupled to a 4 speed gearbox. This was a very compact & efficient machine but gave way in 1950 to the R25 which ironed out some problems in this model. |

1980 BMW MKM 1000 Krauser Engine Size: 898cc First Produced: 1973
Air cooled 2 cylinder 'Boxer' engine with 5 speed gearbox & chain drive. The engine was based on the R100S, but the frame & suspension was completely redesigned to give it the feel or a real racing bike. Top speed was around 139mph. This model is very rare!! |
