1961 Bultaco Mercurio 155

During 1960 the Bultaco 155, intended for use by those who regularly carried a pillion or wished to employ a lightweight sidecar was added to the range, as was the the Sherpa N, derived from the 155 as a trial bike and the Sherpa S scrambler which employed the Tralla 101 engine.

1962 Bultaco Sherpa S 200

The Sherpa S  was produced for motocross, although in its first versions it was nothing more than a derivative of the road model Tralla. Bit by bit it was adapted to the harsher requirements of motocross, with improved suspension, a more robust frame, a stronger engine and a close ratio four speed gearbox.

The need for greater competitiveness led Bultaco to work thouroughly on the development of the TSS. The result of which was the creation of the TSS models 14 - 125cc and 24 - 250cc. The most important development of these motorcycles was the liquid cooled engine, the first Spanish bike to incorporate this system.

1973 Bultaco Matador Mk.5 250

Engine Size: 250cc

First Produced: 1973

1973 Bultaco Matador Mk5 250

Despite Motociclismo magazine describing it as "a variation on a same theme, but much superior to the original", the fact was that the off-road discipline was becoming what we today know as enduro - a much faster event where bikes with characteristics closer to motocross were needed. The outdated concept of dirt bikes was becoming behind the times. This was the last Matador used in competition.
