The first Zündapp motorcycle was the model Z22 manufactured in 1921. This was the Motorrad für Jedermann ("motorcycle for everyone"), a simple, reliable design that was produced in large quantities. Zundapp are renowned for rugged & long lasting motorcycles & there are still quite a few around, especially in Europe, so check through the countries listed below, you never know what you might find. 1921 Zundapp Z22 Engine Size: 211cc First Produced: 1921
Air-cooled, single cylinder 211cc two stroke engine with belt drive. This model continued in production right up to 1929 when Zundapp started to look at heavier machines with 4 stroke engines. |
1933 Zundapp K500 Engine Size: 498cc First Produced: 1933
Air cooled, 4 stroke flat twin engine coupled to a hand operated 4 speed gear & with a power output of 15hp @ 4800rpm. The major mechanical peculiarity of the 1933 K-series Zundapps lay in their transmission: the rear wheel was driven by shaft, while the gearbox contained a separate chain for each of the four speeds, plus a fifth to drive the camshaft. |
1935 Zundapp K800 Engine Size: 798cc First Produced: 1934
The Zündapp K800 had unit construction, flat-four engines with shaft drive (a layout adopted by Honda for the Gold Wing in 1974) and were the only 4-cylinder machines used by the German armed forces in WWII. |
1942 Zundapp KS750 Military Combo Engine: 750cc First Produced: 1940
From 1940 onward Zündapp produced more than 18,000 units of the Zündapp KS 750 This is a sidecar outfit with a driven side wheel and a locking differential, supplied to the German Wehrmacht. |
1950 Zundapp DB201 Engine: 198cc First Produced: 1950
Air-cooled single cylinder engine producing 7.5hp @ 4000rpm. This was the first production model Zundapp with a small engine manufactured following WWII. |

Air-cooled, single-cylinder 50cc two stroke engine. |
